ATTICA — Jean Green, 81, Attica, died at 9 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2007 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. She was born near Five Points in Warren County, May 13, 1925. She married Francis Ed Green Oct. 10, 1943 in Alexandria, La. He preceded in death May 23, 1985. She attended Attica High School. During World War II, she lived in LaPorte and worked at Kingsbury Ordinance Plant. She had lived most of her life in Independence and Attica, retiring from Cary Quad Residence Hall at Purdue University, where she worked in the west kitchen of the cafeteria. She enjoyed gardening, reading and helping friends. Survivors include: two daughters, Inez Kay Green, Clinton and E. Jayne Wright, Lafayette; two sons, Kenny Jay (Vivian) Green, Independence and John T. Green, Clarks Hill; a sister, Esthelle Manilla, Rockford, Ill.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-granddaughters. She was also preceded in death by a son, Eddie Lee Green; a daughter, Vivian Leota Green; two brothers, Jacob Long and Kenneth Lowell Glazner; and her mother, Vivian Foreman Ratcliff. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with St. Elizabeth Hospice Spiritual Counselor, John T. Johnson officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
