Mrs. Roy (Della) Green, 82, of Fithian Route 2 died at 3 a.m. Wednesday, June 16 1971, an hour after being admitted to Lake View Memorial.

She was a nature enthusiast and past president of the Vermilion County Audubon society.   She held prime interest in conservation projects.   She was specifically interested in construction of the Middlefork Reservoir which will come within a few miles of the family farm.  Mrs. Green once described herself as a "rock hound," and she had a
collection of unusual rocks from various parts of the world.  She expressed keen interest in the moon rocks brought back from the Apollo missions and how they compared to earth rocks.

She also collected old books and manuscripts and bought a reproduction of Mary Washington's will at a sale in Oakwood several years ago.    Mrs. Green enjoyed mushrooming and searching for wild flowers.   She attended DePauw
University and the University of Illinois and taught art courses.  Born Jan 4 1889, in Yeddo, Ind., she was the daughter of John and Marie Shoaf Reichard.  She married Roy E. Green Feb 2 1913 in Urbana.   He died in 1962.

Mrs. Green was a member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church, Audubon Society, Rock and Mineral Club of Danville and the Senior Citizens of Danville.   She was active in church affairs many years and was a hobbyist.  She enjoyed bird watching, rock collecting, astronomy, antique glass and
china.

Survivors include two sons, Gail C. Green, who resides on the family farm near Oakwood, and Robert Green of Aurora, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Roberta Mathis of Campaign; three brothers, David Reichard of Sarasota, Fla., Wrista Reichard of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Cecil of Venice, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Oakwood United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joseph E. Martin officiating.   Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.   The Johnson Funeral Home in Oakwood is in charge of arrangements.   Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday.
