Cora Louise Green, 71, of 503 N. Bowman St., Danville, Ill., passed away at 9 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 1979 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, where she had been one day.
She was born on February 11, 1908 in Butler County, Ky., the daughter of Secrate and Ella Fay Mathis Belcher.
She was married in Detroit, Mich., to Roy Green who preceded in death in January 1959.
She had been a resident of Danville, Ill., the past 11 years and had previously resided at Sonoma, Calif. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She was a member of the Monticello Baptist Church, Provo, Ky.
Surviving are four daughters, Patty Vincent of Covington, Katheryn Browing of the Republic of Panama, JoAnn Green and Linda Green, both of Danville, Ill.; two sisters, Rebecca Watson of Evansville and Elvie Smith of Sonoman, Calif.; four brothers, Gordon Parker of Evansville, James Belcher of Evansville, Clifford Belcher of Sonoman, Calif., and Secrate Belcher Jr., of Covington; 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home in Morgantown, Ky. with the Rev. Billy Wells officiating. Burial was at Brown Cemetery, Provo, Ky. Friends were received Tuesday at the DeVerter Funeral Home, Covington. – thanks to S
