Waynetown April 12 - Mrs. Aurilla Gray, 88 years old the oldest woman in Wayne Township, died at her home here early today after a long illness.  Death occurred at 3:30 a.m. and was hastened b y a fractured hip which she sustained in a fall last November. She had been in declining health for several years and seriously ill the past two weeks infirmities and heart disease having complicated her condition.  Born on Feb 16, 1851 at Wallace, Mrs. Gray was the daughter of John and Eva Harbaugh Bowman. She was married at Covington April 28, 1874 to Dan T.R. Gray who preceded her in death several years ago.

Mrs. Gray was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and according to friends had witnessed the erection of three courthouses in Fountain County. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Grenard of Waynetown and a number of nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o'clock Friday morning at the Waynetown Baptist Church with Rev. JC Overman pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be made at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery - kbz

Waynetown, April 12 – Mrs. Aurilla Gray, 88, widow of Ben TR Gray and oldest woman of Wayne Township, died at 6:30 a.m. today at her home here. Long in failing health, she fell last November and broke a hip, since when she had been an invalid. Born at Wallace, Feb 16, 1851, it was said she had seen three different court houses at Covington. Her marriage took place in 1874, since when she had lived here; Mr. Gray died many years ago.  A daughter, Mrs. Nellie Grenard, who lived with her, survives. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Baptist Church of which she was a member with Rev. IC Overman officiating; burial in the Masonic Cemetery. – kbz
