GRAY, John Harvey - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

John Harvey Gray, son of Abner and Sarah Gray, was born in Butler County, Ohio, Dec. 19th, 1833, died Nov. 2, 1901, aged 67 years, 10 months and 14 days. He was married to Barbara Bowman, of Fountain County, Indiana, March 10, 1858, to whom were born seven children, Sarah, Annie, Abner, George and Joseph, two dying in infancy. The mother died Sept. 15th, 1890.

John Harvey Gray united with the United Brethren Church while young, and afterward joined the Christian Church and remained a member of that church until death. He was a good man in the community and a good neighbor, ready and willing at any time to help one in need.  The funeral services were held at the family residence at ten o’clock Monday morning, conducted by the Rev. F. K. Daugherty, of Yountsville. Interment was at Wesley Cemetery. -s
