Emery L. Gray of Hillsboro, age 73, died Friday evening, March 26, at his home. He was born at Hillsboro, April 22, 1908, the son of Harry and Inez Riley Gray. He married Mildred Allen, who survives.
Gray was a member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church, serving as chairman of its building committee in 1956 and 57 and as a member of its administrative board. He also served on the Hillsboro and Tri-County Volunteer Fire department. He worked as a cement finisher for 40 years and also was employed at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home for 15 years.
Also surviving are a daughter, Dottie Bahler of Remington; a son, Paul L. of Lafayette; a sister, Charlotte Kemp of Garland, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with Rev. Gil Hubbard officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. Crumley-Williams Funeral Home was in charge of the services. – thanks to S
