George Byrod Graham, age 88, a life resident of the Covington area and a retired farmer, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at his home at 503 Fourth St. He had been seriously ill for a month. Mr. Graham was born Oct. 9, 1876, southeast of Covington, the son of Milton O. and Mary Wilson Graham. He was married March 4, 1914 to Mary Edna Heath, who preceded him in death Jan. 17, 1958. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Fifth St., and the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are: one daughter, Miss Lura Bess Graham, Fountain County Deputy Auditor, at home; and one brother, Chauncey Graham, of Covington. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and five sisters. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hegg Funeral Home. The Rev. Glenn Ray, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Covington, officiated. Burial, with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in charge, was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. - jlr
