Albert W. Graham, 81, died at 10:30 o'clock last Thursday morning at his home two miles south of Covington. Death was due to infirmities of age. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon in charge of the Rev. OP Cooper of Cooper's Chapel. Interment was made in the family lot of Mt Hope cemetery. The Odd Fellows having charge of services at the grave. Almost 100 years ago Washington and James Graham, father and uncle of deceased stood on the banks of the little creek that bears their name and on Nov 20, 1822 took title to the homes of the descendants. Albert W. Graham was born in Wabash Twp. and grew to manhood in that vicinity. On August 20, 1862 he enlistd in Co H 63rd Indiana volunteers and served as corporal in his company through the war. He was at the battle of Franklin, Tenn. and with Sherman on his famous march to the sea. He was honorably discharged from the service June 21, 1865. On May 11, 1871, he married Miss Serilda Carwile. The deceased is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. James Yerkes and his sister, Miss Agatha Graham who is four years his senior. - kbz

Albert W. Graham, 91, residing on 7th St, in Covington was found dead at approximately 6:30 a.m. Thursday March 31, 1955 at his home. Fountain County Coroner Charles Fishero of Veedersburg returned a verdict that Mr. Graham’s death was caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the head. The body was removed to the Hegg Funeral Home where services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.  Mr. Graham was born July 23, 1863 son of Milton and Mary Wilson Graham at Covington. He was unmarried. Surviving are two brothers, George and Chauncey both of Covington and a sister, Mrs. Emma Roads of Covington. – kbz
