Funeral services for Miss Nannie Belle Grady, age 71, a lifelong resident of the Covington community, were held at 3 p. m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the First Baptist Church here. She died at 1:43 a. m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient five days. Miss Grady was born Nov. 17, 1891 in Missouri, the daughter of Roland and Ann Murray Grady. Her mother died when she was very young and Miss Grady was reared in the John Rogers home, north of Covington. She was the last of a family of four children and had lived in this area all her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church here. She had never married. Survivors include one uncle, Bert Murray of Orlando, Fla., and four cousins, Mrs. Wilma Moore of Covington, Dr. Alvin Murray of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Mary Barrett of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Fauniel Luther of Adel, Iowa. The Rev. Glenn Ray officiated at the funeral services and burial, with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in charge, was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
