Attica, Nov 3 – 20 minutes after his return from Danville, Ill where he had consulted a heart specialist, Matt C. Grady, 57 died at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at his home here, 607 East Jackson Street.  He was born near Veedersburg Nov 18, 1879, son of Samuel and Virginia Grady and married Jessie Bailey. For a number of years he was rural mail carrier at Hillsboro and also resided at Crawfordsville. In 1927 he came to Attica as a newspaper circulation manager and at the time of his death was local sales representative for the Leroy Pope Company, Crawfordsville. He was treasurer of the Attica Merchants’ association.  Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Phelps, LaPorte; a son Joseph of Peru; six brothers, John Lafayette; Sam of Veedersburg; Henry, Danville and Fred, Clifford and Homer Grady, Attica with a sister, Mrs. Will McClain, Stone Bluff. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Attica ME Church with Rev. MC Bishop, pastor officiating; burial in Riverside Cemetery. - kz
