GRADY, Garrett - Civil War

Garrett Grady, a pioneer resident of the above vicinity (Veedersburg) died Sunday morning at the home of his son, Edward Grady.  He was 89 years old and had spent his entire life in this vicinity.  He was the son of Rueben and Margaret Grady and was born in the Kentuck neighborhood.  Mr. Grady was one of a family of 10 children, he being the last member of the family left.  His wife, Mrs. Emily Grady died in 1919.  He was a Civil War veteran serving with Co H 63rd regiment of Indiana volunteers. Two sons, Edward and Harly Grady survive, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral was held at the Bonebrake Church south of Veedersburg Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock and burial was in the cemetery nearby the Rev. OP Cooper officiating. - kbz
