ATTICA - Funeral service for Jerry Wayne Gowin, age 13, of Wanatah, a former resident of Attica, who was pronounced dead on arrival Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Porter County Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the DeSutter Funeral Home here. His death was caused by injuries sustained in an auto accident eight miles south of Wanatah on Route 421. The Rev. T. Edward Davis officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery. He was born in Louisville, Ky., and had lived in Attica in 1959. Survivors include his father, Wylie Gowin of Wanatah; his mother, Mrs. Pauline Cain of Liberty, Ky.; three brothers, two sisters; a half brother, Roy Allen Smith, who was critically injured in the same accident; five half brothers and three half sisters. - jlr
