Funeral services for Robert William Gouty, age 59, well known farmer of the State Line neighborhood who died last Saturday morning, were held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Benson Chapel. Mr. Gouty died at 7:30 a. m. at Lake View Hospital, Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient for the past three weeks. Death was attributed to meningitis. He had been in ill health for some time following and attack of the flu. He was born August 26, 1889 near Gessie, Ind., the son of Joseph and Luella Hartman Gouty. He was married February 3, 1917 to Ethel Fox, who survives. Mr. Gouty was a member of the Fountain Lodge 274, F. & A. M., of Covington and was well known in this community, having lived near here all his life. Surviving beside the widow are: a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Lorene Older, Danville, Ill., one grandson, Curtis Lynn; two brothers, Ezra of State Line Route, and Leslie, of Covington, and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Remster, Villard, Minn., Mrs. Ida Saltsgaver, Danville, Ill., and Miss Inez Gouty of Indianapolis. Dr. A. F. Bremicker, pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Danville, Ill., and the Rev. J. W. Knight of Perrysville officiated. The pallbearers were: Earl Strawser, Russell Patton, Archie Fields, Jerd Crouch, Regan Mallett and Lawrence Vickery. Musical selections were by Clifford Martin. Burial, with Bodine & Shelby in charge, was in the Lower Mound Cemetery.  --typed by Walt W
