Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Langley Gouty, age 87, a life resident of the Rileysburg and Union Corner communities, who died at 11:15 p. m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, were held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Rileysburg EUB Church. The Rev. C. E. Parks, pastor, officiated and burial, with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral home in charge, was in Hopewell Cemetery. Mrs. Gouty was taken to the hospital seven hours before her death. She was born Sept. 9, 1873, near Union Corner, the daughter of Casper James and Isabel Anderson Langley. She was married March 21, 1897 to John Thomas Gouty, who preceded her in death Oct. 26, 1954. She was a member of the Rileysburg EUB Church and the Ladies Aid Society. She had formerly taught Union Corner and Lynch schools. She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. Surviving are: two sons, Gerald L. of Covington and John T. Jr., of Danville Rt. 5; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Snavely of Covington Rt. 2, one sister, Mrs. Hortense Gouty of Danville; one brother, Joseph of Danville Rt. 4; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. --typed by Walt W
