Covington—Gerald Langley Gouty, 71, died Wednesday, (March 7, 1973) at his home in Covington, Route 2. Mr. Gouty was a life resident of the Rileysburg area.
A retired farmer, he worked for many years as a fireman for Penn Central and also worked for the Caterpillar Co., in Peoria and at the Rock Island Arsenal. He was born Oct. 19, 1902, in Vermillion County, son of John and Margaret Langley Gouty. Survivors include a son, John Lester Gouty of Danville, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) McCracken of Springfield, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Dorene) Snavely of Covington, Route 2; and four grandchildren.
A brother preceded him in death.
Services were held in the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home Saturday with the Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery. – thanks so very much to “S”
