Mrs. Burley E. Gouty, 82, of 1718 Belton, died at 2:25 a.m. today (Oct. 27, 1967) in St. Elizabeth Hospital where she had been a patient since Oct. 11. She had been seriously ill two months. She had resided in Danville since 1960 and before that lived most of her life in the Rileysburg, Ind., area. Born Nov. 8, 1884, on a farm north of Rileysburg, she was a daughter of John and Jane Rayburn Fulton. She was married Nov. 2, 1902, in Rileysburg to Luther Gouty, who preceded her in death June 14, 1949. Mrs. Gouty was a member of the Pleasant Grove Evangelical United Brethren Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marie Altenstadter, Danville, and Mrs. Freda Huber, Lake Worth, Fla., and three sons , Floyd Gouty, State Line, Paul Gouty, Gessie, Ind., and Luther Gouty Jr., Danville. Also, four sisters, Mrs. Nelle Brant, Mrs. Rose Gray and Mrs. Grace Marlatt, all of Danville, and Mrs. Fan LaBelle, Elkhart, Ind.; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and four brothers. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Edmund-Jones-Sullivan Funeral Home. The Rev. Dale Jackson will officiate, with burial in Old Atherton Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday. - jlr
