Mrs. Carrie Gott, 90, a life resident of Mellott, died yesterday (July 13, 1967) at the Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. She was born Oct. 4, 1876, at Mellott, the daughter of Elias and Margaret Smith Riley. She was married in Fountain County in 1894 to William Gott, who preceded her in death in 1939. She was also preceded in death by three daughters and a son. She is survived by three sons, Murray of New Market, Walter S. of Newman, Neb., and Dallas G. of Lafayette. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. The last of five children, she was the oldest living member of the Mellott Church of Christ. Services will be at 19 a.m. Saturday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with the Rev. Ivan Gwaltney officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Carrie Gott, 90, native and life resident of this community, died at noon Thursday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She had been ill only three days and hospitalized a day. A daughter of Elias and Margaret Smith Riley, she was born Oct.4,1876. She married William Gott in Fountain County in 1894. He died in 1939. Surviving her are three sons, Murray of New Market, Walter S. of Newman, Neb., and Dallas G. of Lafayette, 12 grandchildren and 29 great grand children. Mrs. Got was preceded in death by three daughter and a son. She was a member of the Mellott United Church of Christ. Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro where friends may call. Rev. Ivan Gwaltney of Zionsville, formerly the pastor in Mellott, will officiate.
