Chester J. Gossett, 68, of Veedersburg, operator of a service station at Steam Corner, died Monday in the Lakeview Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient four weeks.
Born in Fountain County, May 9, 1891, he was the son of Milford L. and Fannie Furr Gossett. He was married in 1916 to Jessie D. Chitwood, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Mrs. Jean Irvin of Danville, Gale of Princeton, Ill., and Mrs. Juanita Crowell of Clinton, Ind., and a brother, Rolland of Veedersburg.
He was a member of the New Liberty Church.
Services were held Wednesday at the New Liberty Church; with the Rev. William Mayoh officiating. Burial was in Bonebrake
Cemetery. - jz
