Garlin Gossar of Danville, Illinois, age 75, died Sunday afternoon, August 28, in Lakeview Medical Center at Danville. He was born in Russell County, Kentucky, October 12, 1907, the son of Grant and Clemmie Scott Gossar. October 28, 1939, he married Vernice Dalton, who survives. Gossar was a member of Hooton Church of Christ and had retired in 1970 from General Motors Foundry at Tilton, Illinois.
Also surviving are four daughters, Leona Halstead and Judy Bennett, both of Danville, Carrie Ping of Perrysville and Janice Johnson of Lodi; six sons, Gary Dean, Garland Mark, James Michael and Barry Joe, all of Danville, William Grant of Markelville and Kevin Theodore of Perrysville; two sisters, Carrie Parrish of Penfield, Illinois, and Flora Clark of Kingman; eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Barrick and Son Funeral Home in Danville with Rev. Philip Rogers officiating. Burial was in Stearns Cemetery near Muncie, Illinois. -s-
