    Mrs. Agnes Sarah Gore was born in Jefferson County, Indiana, on March 25, 1863, the daughter of Francis M. and Melinda Landon. She spent the early part of her life in Lancaster, Indiana. On May 2, 1897, she was married to Samuel Gore and came to Veedersburg. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Gore Linn.  Mr. Gore died in 1911.  Mrs. Gore was a member of the United Brethren Church until she moved to Indianapolis in 1916. She made her home with her daughter since 1920 and in recent years has resided in Kansas City, Mo. In addition to her daughter, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Luke Walton of Kimberly, Idaho and Mrs. Orr Wyne of Madison, Indiana; three grandchildren Marian Vander Veen of Melbourne, Australia; James Herbert Linn, Ft. McClellan, Alabama and Louis Gore Linn at home.  Notwithstanding several years of ill health,  she always enjoyed life and her interest in her grandchildren.  Her hobby was making quilts and she made a number of beautiful ones. She passed away August 31, 1944.

Funeral services were held Monday at the United Brethren Church in Veedersburg for Mrs. Agnes Gore, 80, a former resident of Veedersburg, who died last Thursday at her home in Kansas City, Kansas.

Mrs. Gore had been ill for several months, suffering from a stroke of paralysis. She was the widow of Samuel Gore, Veedersburg merchant who died in 1914.  In recent years she had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Lines, Kansas City. Besides the daughter there also survives a grandson and granddaughter. Funeral rites were in charge of the Rev. OW McGaughey with burial in Rockfield Cemetery.
