Teddy R. Gordon, 79, of Tangier died Feb. 16 at 9:05 p.m. in the Vermillion County Hospital in Clinton. He had been hospitalized for three weeks. He was born near Steam Corner in Fountain County on May 22, 1905, the son of John and Mary Nehemiah Gordon. He was a retired railroader, having worked with the Nickel Plate line.
On Sept. 24, 1962 he was married to Wandaline Robinson, who survives. Surviving, besides the wife, are three daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Northcutt, Kentland; Mrs. Mary Jo Jones, Hillsdale, and Mrs. Thelma Brown, Terre Haute; four sons, Teddy L., Palestine, Ill.; Robert E., Ridgefarm, Ill; Warren I., Hillsdale, and William E., Danville, Ill.; three brothers, Claude Gordon, Port Richey, Fla.; Warren Gordon, Lansing, Ill.; and John Gordon, Chalmers, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Wylie, Terre Haute, and Mrs. Ruby Bach, Newport; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and two stepsons. Funeral services were held Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Woodrow Funeral Home with Bill Howard officiating.
