GORDON, Harold Benton - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

COVINGTON - Harold Benton Gordon, age 74, died at his home in Perrysville at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27. Mr. Gordon was born Jan. 23, 1893, in Lynnville, Ill., the son of James B. and Charlotte Gibbs Gordon. He was married June 13, 1925 to Grace Johnson, who survives. A member of the Jacksonville Christian Church, Mr. Gordon was employed by the Jacksonville Courier for several years. He later was employed by a real estate firm in Chicago. He had been a resident of Perrysville 21 years. Surviving, in addition to the wife, is: one brother, Carl O. Gordon of Jacksonville, Ill. He was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters. Funeral services were held at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Harold Fogle, pastor of the First Church of Christ, Covington, officiated. Burial was in Diamond Grove cemetery at Jacksonville. - jlr
