C.M. Spencer was called to Cates Thursday of last week to receive the remains of Mrs. Mary Gookins who died at her home in Ridgefarm on the preceding day of tuberculosis. The remains were taken to the home of her father, Mr. McGilvery near Yeddo, and on the following day funeral services were conducted and the remains were laid to rest in the Centennial cemetery. Mrs. Gookins was a former resident of this place, having been proprietor of the Kingman hotel for several years and has a number of friends who will hate to learn of her death. ā thanks to āSā
