Mrs. Sarah I. Gooding, 70, expired at her home 3 miles SW of Wallace, at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, following a serious illness of six weeks with a complication of diseases. She had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Gooding was b.orn in Fountain County on January 16, 1868 a daughter of Andrew J. & Eliza J. Picket Clouse and married Isaac Gooding in 1886. Her husband died on Feb 15, 1923. She spent her entire life in Fountain, Parke & Montgomery County and for the past 35 years resided where she died. She was an active member of the primitive Baptist church at Wolf Creek. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Lula Henthorne at home; one sons, George Gooding near Wallace; one sister, Mrs. Elsworth Robbins near Veedersburg; and four brothers, Bert louse near Hillsboro, Joseph Clouse, Hamilton, Ohio, Frank Clouse, Marshall and Everett Clouse, Yeddo. Fun. services were held Thurs aft at 1:30 o'clock at the Phanuel Lutheran Church near Wallace, with Rev. Cornelius Airhart, of New Market, in charge. Bur. was made in the Cemetery adjoining the church.
