Waynetown -- Mrs. Mariam L. Gooding, 53, of Waynetown, a Ben Hur Nursing Home employee, died Friday night in Carle Clinic at Urbana, Ill. She was a 25 year member of Waynetown, Rebekah Lodge 551 and Church of God at Paris, Ill. She had been a resident of Waynetown since 1943. Born January 13, 1920, at Paris, Ill., she was a daughter of Walter and Edith Ward. She married Leland H. Gooding of Waynetown June 24, 1943. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Juanita Swenford of Mattoon Ill. a stepson, Robert Gooding of Waveland, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Pauline Collings of Roachdale, a brother, Walter Ward of Waynetown, three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Coricam and Mrs, Bonnie Goodwin, both of Paris, Ill. and Mrs. Joan Thompson of LaPorte, three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and a step-great-grandchild. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Servies Thomas Funeral Home here with the Rev. Jack Swank officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
