Laura, as she was known to her many friends, was always cheerful even to the end of her long illness. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend and willing to help anyone in any way and speak words of kindness to them. She was an active member of the Wallace Christian Church and the Wallace Ladies Aid as long as her health permitted. She is survived by one daughter, Stella Fox, a grandson Danny Wayne, one sister, Clara Palmer, several nieces and nephews and many friends. Dear Laura, we miss thee when morning’s bright wings Are shedding their rosy light. We miss thee when evening her first shadow flings. ‘Til it darkens far into the night. If we could but lift the mysterious veil. That hides the fair realms from us still. We feel we could see thee in some flowry dale. Where spirit feet wander at will. We would fain call thee back to the old home again. But a silent voice seems to say: “She’s resting so sweetly from labor and pain, O call not the loved one away!”
