WALLACE — Dale William Gooding, 76, Wallace, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 4, 2003 at his home. He was born March 18, 1927 in Fountain County, the son of George and Viola Allen Gooding. He married Carol Weaver Gooding July 13, 1958 in Wallace. She survives. He lived in Wallace all his life. He was a graduate of Wallace High School. He was self employed as a farmer his entire life in the Wallace area. He had worked at R. R. Donnelley & Sons for a while. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He was a 50-year member of the Wallace Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors, besides the wife, include: a son, Greg Gooding, Wallace; three daughters, Diane Rush, Kyan McCollum and Cathryn Gooding, all of Wallace; two brothers, George Earl Gooding, Crawfordsville and Russell Gooding, Wallace; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., Waynetown, with the Rev. Richard Wright officiating. Burial was in Phanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Wallace. Memorial contributions may be made to Wallace Christian Church or Wallace Volunteer Fire Department. – jlr

Dale William Gooding, 76, Wallace, died
9:30 a.m. Sunday in his residence. Mr. Gooding was a self-employed farmer in
the Wallace area. He also worked at R.R. Donnelley & Sons. He was a World
War II Navy veteran and a 50-year member of the Wallace Fire Department. He was
a Wallace High School graduate. He was born March 18, 1927, at Fountain County,
to George and Viola Allen Gooding. He married Carol Weaver on July 13, 1958, at
Wallace. She survives. Also surviving
are a son, Greg, Wallace; three daughters, Diane Rush, Kyan McCollum and
Cathryn Gooding, all of Wallace; two brothers, George Earl, Crawfordsville, and
Russell, Wallace; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled 11 a.m. Wednesday in
Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 S. Indiana 25, Waynetown, with the Rev. Richard
Wright officiating. Burial will be in Phanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Wallace.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to
Wallace Christian Church or Wallace Volunteer Fire Department.
