A message was received by Mrs. Roy Lindley of the death Sunday night of her uncle, Alonzo Gooding of Waynetown. He was 84 years of age and was a retired farmer. He had resided in the Waynetown vicinity for the past 40 years. Funeral services were Wednesday at 2 pm. from Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown interment was made in Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown.

Waynetown -- Alonzo H. (Lonnie) Gooding, 84, retired Montgomery county farmer, died at 10 p.m. Sunday in his home at Waynetown after an illness of two weeks. Born May 10, 1876, south of Wallace in Fountain county, Mr. Gooding, who was a farmer in the Waynetown community 40 years, was the son of Alan and Amanda Myers Gooding. He married Myrta Ellen Davis, March 11, 1897, at Cates Station. Mr. Gooding was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church. Survivors include the widow, three sons, Bernice Gooding, Rt. 4, Crawfordsville; Leland Gooding of Breman; three daughters, Mrs. Mary French of Rt. 1 New Ross; Mrs. Lucy Branson of Chicago and Mrs. Doris Myers of near Hillsboro; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Zula Gaines of Kingman. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys Gooding; a grandson, Austin Gooding; a sister, two brothers, a half sister and two half brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Servies Funeral Home at Waynetown, with burial at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Rev. John R. Servies will be officiating minister.
