MARY RIDGEWAY GOOD

Source: - unknown newspaper dated 8-1-1907: Obituary from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana, now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Mrs. Mary Agnes Good, daughter of Joshua and Margaret Ridgeway, was born March 1, 1833, near Portland, Fountain county, Ind., and most of her days were spent near there. In 1857 she was united in marriage to Abraham Good and to them no children blest their home. But there was always sunshine and happiness around them. As a wife she was a true and faithful companion, and as a friend and neighbor she was ever faithful and willing. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, two nieces and three nephews and a host of friends who will miss her kind words and friendly deeds. From childhood she has been a true believer in our Lord and lived up to His ways and biddings. She first was a member of the Christian Church and was baptized by Rev. Osborne, at Portland Arch. And as she moved around from place to place she would go to the nearest church and do the work of her Lord. In her later days she was a member of the Methodist Church of Elm Grove. But on account of her ill health she could not attend regularly but was a true worshiper. She has been ailing in health for several years and was very poorly at the time of her death which occurred August 1, 1907, at her home. She was 74 years and 5 months of age. The funeral was preached last Sunday at 2 p. m. at the family residence in Kramer, by Rev. E. C. Wareing, of the Methodist Church and internment in Chenowith cemetery. The pall bearers were—Wm. Johnson, Everett Farthing, Thos. Moore, James Bennett, Warren Liggett and Abe Myers.  --typed by Walt W
