T5 Russell Clayton Golden, aged 28, brother of Charles Golden of Attica died of burns Feb 24 at New Britain in the Southwest Pacific. T-5 Golden’s wife lives in Lafayette and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Golden reside at Mulberry.  Surviving also are three other brothers, Donald who is with the infantry in France, George who is in a hospital in Oklahoma and John at home and one sister, Opal also at home. T5 Golden graduated from the HS at Monitor and was employed at the Aluminum plant in Lafayette prior to entering the service in Dec 1943, serving with an amphibious engineering group.
