GODFREY, Irene - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Irene Godfrey, 69, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, died at 2 a.m. Saturday, October 22, at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa. She was a former resident of Attica. She was a waitress at a Lafayette hotel for several years and also in Michigan City.

  Born May 2, 1914 in Attica, she lived in Michigan City and Lafayette before moving to Tuscaloosa four years ago. She married Jack Godfrey in Michigan City in 1945, who died in 1970.

  Survivors include a foster daughter, Juana Smith of Tuscaloosa; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Mullendore of Lafayette, Mrs. Alice Doyle of Attica, and Mrs. Vera Bruce of Michigan City. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

  Services were conducted Tuesday at Fisher Funeral Home in Williamsport with Rev. Harvey Lange officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Attica. -s-
