Henry Kellum Goddard was born in Pennsylvania March 25 1820.   Died December 22, 1906. age 86 years 8 months and 27 days. He was married in 1841 to Margaret Rush.  To this union were born nine children, six sons and three daughters.   Eight children still survive him.  His wife preceded him to the heaven  of  rest 16 years ago.  He was converted in 1844 and united with the Methodist church and after coming to this community  he united with the United Brethren church at Fairview.  He has lived a devoted Christian life for 62 years.   His testimony was always an inspiration to his brethren.   He said in his last words that there wasn’t a shadow between him and God.   He has gone from labor to reward to enjoy  the place that Jesus spoke about,
when he said  “I go to prepare a place for you that where  I am ye may be also.”  The funeral was conducted by his pastor, Rev. W. Manuel at the Fairview U. B. church. – thanks so very much to “S”
