GLASCOCK, Mamie

Hillsboro – Seriously ill, the past four weeks with cancer, Mrs. Mamie Glascock, 51, died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday at Lake View Hospital. She was a resident of this area her entire life and in recent years operated Mamie’s Café here being forced to sell her interest about a year ago due to poor health.  Mrs. Glascock was born Feb 15, 1894 near Veedersburg, a daughter of Guy W. and Ellen E. Haas, who survive.  She was married May 19, 1913 to Joseph Glascock of this community who preceded her in death a few years ago. She was a member of the Christian Church and the Missionary Society here.  In addition to the parents, she is survived by a son, Marion Daniel, residing on the Glascock home place west of Hillsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Max Templeton and Miss Normajean Glascock, both of this community; two brothers, Alton W. Haas of Wingate and Pvt AJ Haas of Mayo General Hospital, Galesburg and four sisters (note: only 3 listed), Miss Ethel Haas of Huntington, Ind and Mrs. Claude Record and Mrs. William Piers, both of Indianapolis and a granddaughter. The body is at the Crumley and Son Funeral Home in Covington. It will be returned to the residence here where it will remain until burial in Rose Hill Cemetery – kbz
