Charles Glascock for many years a prominent citizen of Crawfordsville, died Thursday morning August 22, 1940 at the state hospital at Evansville Ind where he had been for the past thee years. Infirmities of age caused his death after a three year illness. Mr. Glascock was active in politics while living in Crawfordsville and held various political positions. He served as precinct committeeman for the Republican part on diff. occasions, was named city policemen for a period of 4 years and later was employed at the city hall. He was born Dec 27, 1857, in Fleming Co Ky, the son of David A. and Theresa Custer Glasco Youngblood of the Scott's Prairie neighborhood, South of Veedersburg. For sev. years he followed the farming occupation. He was also a school teacher for a number of years. Mr. Glascock was a highly regarded citizen and had many good friends. Mr. Glascock is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Walter Moyer and Miss Fannie Glascock, both of Crawfordsville; one son, David A. Glascock, director of athletics at Indiana State Teachers College, Terre Haute; four grandch, Charles and Murial Moyer of Crawfordsville; and David and John Glascock, of TH; and three brothers, Paul Glascock who was his twin, and Richard and Scott off Maysville, Ky. Funeral services were held Friday at Crawfordsville.
