GILLUM, Paul

Paul Gillum, 64, 928 S. Brady St., Attica, died 11:05 p.m. Friday at Home Hospital in Lafayette. He had been in ill health for six years.
He was born near Paoli Oct. 30, 1910, son of Rev. Benjamin Oliver and Vada Cotner Gillum. He formerly lived near West Lebanon and also at Rossville, Ill., and had been a resident of Attica the past 11 years. He was married Dec. 20, 1933, at Marshfield to Mayola Jack, who survives. He attended school at Paoli and had been a grinder at Harrison Steel Castings Co. in Attica about ten years. He formerly farmed in Warren County near West Lebanon for about 20 years. He was Past Master of West Lebanon Lodge No. 352 F&AM, West Lebanon Chapter of Order of Eastern Star No. 162, and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Marilon Rice, Danville, Ill.; one son, Jack Paul Gillum, Rt. 1, Williamsport; five sisters, Mrs. Blanche Allen, Mrs. Pearl Chastain, Mrs. Opal Hutslar, Mrs. Martha Walls, all of Paoli; Mrs. Lucy Hamilton, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Robert Gillum, West Baden Springs; Oliver Gillum, Bedford; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. His parents, one sister and four brothers preceded him in death.
Friends were received Sunday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica, where Masonic memorial services were held Sunday evening. Funeral services were held there in the chapel on Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Don Green officiating. Burial was at West Lebanon Cemetery. Friends may make memorial contributions to the Fountain County Cancer Society.
