GILLILAND, Hester McKinney - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

LODI — Hester Ellen “Hessie” Gilliland, 89, Lodi, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2000 in West Central Community Hospital, Clinton. She was born March 14, 1910 in Pulaski County, Ky., the daughter of Andrew and Sara Ellen McCard McKinney. She was married to Andrew Gilliland. He preceded in death Jan. 14, 1958. She and her husband were former owners of the Kingman Tavern and Hotel. Earlier years she worked for Presto-Lite, Indianapolis. She was a member of Flat Lick Baptist Church, Somerset, Ky. Survivors include: several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and six brothers. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday) in DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga, with the Rev. Andy Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Eugene Cemetery, Eugene. Visitation will be from noon until time of service. – jlr
