Joseph Gill of Silverwood, age 60, died Wednesday morning, June 25, in the Veterans Administration Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born in Lodi, March 31, 1921, the son of Deverter and Grace Marie Judson Gill. November 17, 1949, he married Valerie Jean Goodwin, who survives.

  Gill was an Army military police veteran of World War II, had been a cement finisher and farmer and was currently custodian at Hurletron in Danville, Illinois. He was a member of Waterman Baptist Church, Cayuga American Legion and National Bass Masters Club.

  Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Karen Riley of Cayuga, Mrs. Joetta Kay Kinderman of Ridge Farm, Illinois, and Mrs. Marie Rushor of Veedersburg; a sister, Thelma Gill of Yuma, Arizona; a brother, Raymond of Montezuma, his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Maggie Judson of Yuma, Arizona; and eight grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Saturday at the Malcolm DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga. Burial was in Miller Cemetery near Lodi.
