Charles J. Gick, 61, of West Lafayette, died unexpectedly at 10:42 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 1996 in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette. Mr. Gick worked in construction and was a truck driver for Gick Builders. He also operated a service station in Fowler for ten years. Born Nov. 18, 1934 in Earl Park, he was the son of Charles P. and Loretta A. (Weisenberger) Gick. He attended Fowler School and lived in Benton County most of his life. He moved to West Lafayette in May. Mr. Gick married Jean L. Brown in Oxford on July 31, 1954. She survives. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Oxford. Also surviving, are: two sons, Robert J. Gick of West Lafayette and Michael A. Gick of Oxford; four sisters, Judy Jessie of Reynolds, Donna Kendall and Dian Lanie, both of Lafayette and Debbie Barker of Linden; seven brothers, Gene Gick of Otterbein, Ed Gick of Lafayette, Merle Gick of Hope and Jim Gick, Steve Gick, Larry Gick and Nick Gick, all of Fowler; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Visitation was Sunday at Hahn Funeral Home, Oxford with Wake service. Funeral Mass on Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Weisenberger officiating. Interment in Oxford Catholic Cemetery. Friends desiring may contribute in memoriam to American Heart Association. – jlr
