Danville, Ill.—Ruby E. Gibson, 86, Route 5, Danville, Ill., died at 7:05 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 1989, at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville.
She was born Nov. 17, 1902 at Danville, the daughter of Wilbur and Ethel Cossey Marble. She was married Nov. 18, 1920 in Danville to Donald R. Gibson, who survives.
She was a life resident of Danville Township. She was a member of Union Corner United Methodist church and Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member of Governor Bradford Chapter D.A.R. and a 4-H leader for many years. She enjoyed painting, genealogy, crocheting and sewing.
Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Betty Baker, Danville, and Mrs. Wayne (Dona) Clodfelder, Terrell, Texas; one son, Michael, Route 4, Danville; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and a brother, Floyd Marble, Route 5, Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clyde Marble.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Funeral services will be there at 3 p.m. EST Wednesday with Pastor Tom Messick and the Rev. Nick Showalter officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. -s
