Hillsboro - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday Sept 22 at the Cumley Funeral Home for Joe (Dea) Gibison, age 84. The Rev. Charles Sites of Newtown officiated . Burial was in the Coal Springs Cemetery near Veedersburg. Mr. Gibison, a resident of the Hillsboro community for the past 17 years, died at 11:35 a.m. Friday Sept 20 at his home after a short illness. He was a retired railroad employee and farmer. Mr. Gibison had moved to Hillsboro from Mellott. Born in Shelbyville, Ill Dec 18, 1878 he was the son of Joel and Harriet Warren Gibison. He was married Feb 25, 1930, to Mary Agnes Grandstaff who preceded him in death in 1953. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn York of Danville, Ill and Mrs. Betty Clawson of Hillsboro; a brother, Lewis of Shelbyville; a half sister and granddaughter.
