COVINGTON — Dennis Marvin
Gerard, 52, 421 Union St., Covington, died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000
at 205 Fifth St., Covington. He was born Aug. 1, 1948 in Covington, the son of
Jesse and Evelyn Noble Gerard, Jr. He married Shelby Jean Hankins in September 1982.
She preceded in death Aug. 6, 2000. He was a resident of Covington most of his
life, he resided in Attica for a short time. He attended Covington schools and
Maranatha Baptist Church. Survivors include: his mother, Evelyn Green and step
father, Charles Green, Mellott; step mother, Edith Gerard, Covington; two step
daughters, Terry (Sandy Dale) Harper and Lois (D. Frank) Goodwin, both of
Covington; four brothers, James (Donna) Gerard, Attica, Charles Leroy (Carmen)
Gerard, Covington, David (Tina) Gerard, Newtown and Tim Cayton, Kentland; and
three sisters, Judy Lewellen, Mellott and Cora (Sylvester) Cole and Priscilla
(Gene) Burg, both of Veedersburg. He was also preceded in death by his father
and a brother, Terry Gerard. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday in Mt.
Hope Cemetery with Pastor Bob Hamblen officiating. – jlr
