Peter George, 83, formerly of 1104 S. Brady, died Monday (Dec. 8, 1975) at Community Hospital in Williamsport. In ill health for six years, he had resided at Woodland Manor Nursing Home in Attica for the past two years. He had been seriously ill for two months. Born Jan. 15, 1893 in Bellcamon, Serbia, he had been a resident of Attica since 1916. In 1918 in Mississippi, he received his naturalization papers while in military service. On Oct. 9, 1943 in Attica, he married Laura Hagley Johnson, who survives and is a patient at the Woodland Manor Nursing Home. Mr. George had been a ladle man at Harrison Steel Casting Co. for over 50 years. He was a veteran of World War I serving in the Army. He was also a member of the VFW Post of Attica. Survivors also include a daughter, Mrs. Sherry Rae Powers of Attica; four step-daughters, Mrs. William (Maxine) Perigo and Mrs. Lloyd (Jerry) Dunbar, both of Attica Route 1, Mrs. John (Katherine) Grim of Marion and Mrs. Martha Ann McShony of Danville, Ill.; four step-sons, William Johnson of Jonesboro; Harley Johnson of Grand Ledge, Mich., Tom Johnson of Route 4 and James Miller of Danville; 21 grandchildren and 19 great grand children. Services at the Dale Maus Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Green officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery. - jlr
