Ann (Jernagan) Gentry, 68, of Attica, died at her residence on Friday, June 16,
2000 at 9:27 a.m. following an illness of cancer. Born in Kramer on November
28, 1931, she was the daughter of Cecil Herman and Hazel Marie (Umfleet)
Jernagan. Mrs. Gentry was raised in Kramer, attended school there and lived
most of her life in Attica. She formerly worked at the Attica Ledge Tribune
newspaper, both in circulation and advertising for ten years. She later worked
in the Core Room at Harrison Steel Castings Co., Attica, as a finisher for 17
years, retiring in 1992. She had attended the Bethel Community Church. Mrs.
Gentry enjoyed mushrooming and listening to country music, of which the Statler
Brothers were her favorite group. She was formerly married to Henry W. Gentry,
Jr. on May 11, 1962 in Lafayette. He preceded her in death on September 28, 1984.
Surviving, are: two daughters, Sharon (Ray) Phillips of Sheridan and Becky S.
Gentry of Attica; three sons, John H. (Carol) Williamson of Columbus, James R.
(Connie) Wiliamson of Lafayette, and Ricky W. Gentry of Attica; a brother,
Cecil Jernagan, Jr. of Williamsport; five sisters, Sandra Bennett and Beverly
(John) Egbert, both of Williamsport, Betty (Robert) Nelson of Janesville,
Minn., Donna (Larkin) Murray of Indianapolis, and Karen (Larry) Boering of
Wabash; eight grandchildren, Crystal A. Hodgin, Lisa Diane Williamson, Eric
Matthew Williamson, Steven Ray Phillips, Anthony Thomas Williamson, Justin
David Williamson, Laura Jane Williamson, Lexie Kay Gentry; and a
great-granddaughter, Haley Rae Hodgin. She was also preceded in death by a
grandson, Michael Williamson and a brother, James Jernagan. Visitation was
Sunday at Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Service there on Monday with Pastor Greg
Willhite officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Community
