GAYLER, Maxine Brant

Attica—Maxine Brant Gayler, 74, 110 Edgewood Drive, Attica, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, June 4, 1989 in her home.
She was born May 15, 1915 in Attica, the daughter of Arthur H. and Goldie I. Hawkins Brant. Her first marriage was to Mack D. Layton. On April 17, 1971, she married Harold Gayler, who preceded her in death Sept. 29, 1986. They were former caterers at Harrison Hills country Club in Attica.
She graduated from Attica High School and attended beauty college in Lafayette. She lived in California for 17 years, but had lived in Attica most of her life.
She had been a beautician.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church; chapter 125, Order of Eastern Star; and ladies auxiliaries of the Moose, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles, all of Attica.
Surviving are a son, Michael Layton, Attica; one brother, Robert Brant, of Texas; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, following Order of Eastern Star Service, at Maus Funeral Home Chapel, Attica, with Pastor Karl Korbel officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Visitation was from 1 p.m. until time of service. - thanks to S
