Funeral services for Mrs. Rosetta Gaskin, age 89, a life resident of Warren County, who died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Lake View Memorial Hospital, Danville, Ill., were held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Mrs. Gaskin, who had been in ill health and a patient at the Rudisill Nursing Home in Covington for a year, was hospitalized one week. She was born in Warren County March 1, 1877, the daughter of James and Harriet Targinson Siddens. She was married March 7, 1894 to Rollie Gerome Gaskin, who preceded her in death April 17, 1952. She was a former member of the old Forest Hill Church, north of Foster. She had been a telephone operator for 25 years at Foster until the Foster exchange was discontinued and that community became a part of the Covington calling area. Survivors include: one son-in-law, Earl Strawser of Covington; three grandchildren, Mrs. Louise Hunter of Covington, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Ball of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., and Robert Strawser of Veedersburg Rt. 2; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Ella Reiff of North Vernon. She was preceded in death by two daughters and one great-granddaughter. The Rev. Lawrence Tedrow, pastor of the Benson Chapel Methodist Church, which she had attended, officiated at the services. Burial was in Upper Mound Cemetery, across the Wabash from Covington. Serving as pallbearers were: Robert Strawser, Robert Ball, Roy Hunter, Jack Hunter, Dennis Strawser and Roger Coffing.  --typed by Walt W
