STATE LINE, Ind. (CNS) - Mrs. Edna V. Gaskin, 83, died Sunday (Dec. 7, 1969) at 8 p.m. at Lake View Memorial, Danville, after being a patient five days. Born May 28, 1886, in Vermilion County, Illinois, she was the daughter of William H. and Olive Loring Mills. Mrs. Gaskin was a life resident of the State Line area and a retired school teacher. Her hobbies were painting and music. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of State Line and the WSCS of that church. Sept. 15, 1912, she was married to William E. Gaskin, who preceded her in death Oct. 20, 1967. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Caroll Roderick, State Line; three granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Wednesday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Rev. Charles William officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Corner Cemetery. Friends may call after 7:30 this evening and Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Covington – Mrs. Edna V. Gaskin, age 83, a life-long resident of the State Line area died at 8:10 a.m. Sunday Dec 7 at Lake View Memorial Hospital in Danville, Ill the daughter of William H. and Olive Loring Mills. She was married Sept 15, 1912 to William E. Gaskin, who preceded her in death Oct 20, 1967. She was a retired school teacher and had lived all her life in the State Line Community. Her hobbies were music and painting. She was a member of the State Line United Methodist Church and its WSCS. Surviving Mrs. Gaskin are one daughter, Mrs. Caroll Roderick of State Line; three granddaughters, Mrs. Shirley Engle of Danville, Ill; Mrs. Sandy Tuttle of Covington and Mrs. Sue Blacketer of Covington Rt 3 and two great granddaughters. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Charles Williams officiated and burial was in Walnut Corner Cemetery northwest of State Line. – kbz
