COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) — John Parson Garrison, 79, died unexpectedly at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 8, 1972) at his home on Covington Route 1. He had been ill several years with a heart condition. Born Feb. 11, 1891, in Steuben Township of Warren County, he was the son of Zephaniah and Rose Ann Wagner Garrison. He was married Nov. 21, 1912, to Beatrice Stephens, who survives. Mr. Garrison had resided in Wabash Township for 28 years and was a retired farmer. He had formerly resided in the Marshfield area. He attended the Wabash Chapel Church. Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Vaughn (Ellen) Peavler of Covington Route 1, Mrs. Harry (Bernice) Salts of West Lebanon Route 1, Mrs. Fred (Rose Emma) Allen of Villa Grove, Ill., and Mrs. James (Virginia) Arthur of Astor, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. Tentative arrangements call for services at 2 p.m. EST Thursday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Wednesday. --typed by Walt W
