A.H. Garrigus aged 71 died at 10:30 o’clock Tuesday night at his home in Veedersburg, he having suffered a stroke of parlysis several weeks ago. He was born March 10, 1872 near Tangier, a son of John and Mary Ward Garrigus. He came to Veedersburg 44 years ago where he was a telegraph operator in the Big Four Railroad town until his retirement 12 years ago. He was married to Carrie F. Lewis on Oct 4, 1905 and, following her death on Dec 27, 1917 was married to Mrs. Etta Turpin on April 10, 1935. Surviving are the widow and two children by the first wife; Leroy of Indianapolis and Mrs. Ruth Brennan of Washington, DC; two brothers James of Yeddo and Charles of Terre Haute. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Rev. Verne Leonard of the Nazarene Church officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. - kz
