Newtown - Ernest T. Garrett, 43, of Lafayette, a former Newtown resident died at an Indianapolis hospital Sunday. He had been ill 20 years. He was born Feb 22, 1921 in Newtown to Virgil and Bessie Spear Garrett. Survivors include the mother, two brothers, Edward L. of Newtown and Ralph L. of Lafayette; two sisters, Miss Lucille Garrett of Chicago and Mrs. Jewell Rogers of Hammond. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry in 1959. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crumley--Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Earl Huckleberry will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Attica. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.

Ernest Keith Garrett, 43, native of Newtown, passed away at an Indianapolis Hospital, Saturday evening, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. He had been ill 20 years. Born February 22, 1921 in Newtown, he was the son of Virgil and Bessie (Spear) Garrett. The family moved from the Newtown area in 1945. He is survived by his mother of 1631 Logan Avenue, Lafayette; two sisters, Miss Lucille Garrett of Chicago and Mrs. Jewel Rogers of Hammond and two brothers, Ralph L. of Lafayette and Edward L. of Newtown. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Harry. Friends may call at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home, Hillsboro, after 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Huckelberry pastor of the South Bend Inter-Demonional Church, officiating.
