Oliver M. Gardiner aged 78 a well known Covington real estate agent died suddenly at one o’clock Monday afternoon at his home in Covington.  He had been a resident of Covington 35 years, moving there from Mellott.  The son of Marshall Martin and Albina Fowler Gardiner, he was born in Richland Township Oct 4, 1865.  He was married March 1, 1890 to Kathryn Shaw who survives with three sons.  Fred of Tipton; Claude of Dearborn, Mich and Dale of Detroit.  Two brothers, George E. and John W. Gardiner, both living near Mellott also survive.  He was a charger member of the Red Men’s Lodge at Mellott. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the South Christian Church in Mellott, Rev OW McGaughey of Veedersburg officiating with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro.
